H&M to Debut Versace Line in November
Versace for H&M Collection Unveiled
“The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace,” stated Donatella Versace. “For the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own.”
Versace’s collaboration with Hennes & Mauritz AB, more widely known as H&M, joins a long list of designer’s to work with the Swedish fast-paced retailer. Predecessors include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Comme des Garçons, Matthew Williamson, Jimmy Choo, Sonia Rykiel and Lanvin.
The collection will launch in 300 stores, as well as online, among select countries worldwide on November 17. H&M plans to debut the Versace line in the U.S. November 19.
For those of you lucky enough to be in New York on November 8, you may witness the excitement as H&M is expected to unveil the collection at a launch event. Amid the celebrated revelation, a fashion show, a Versace for H&M boutique and an after party are on the agenda.
The Versace women’s collection centers around an eclectic assortment of dresses ranging from $149 to $249. Accessories include shoes and handbags from $149 to $199.
A first for H&M’s designer collections involves home furnishings. The line incorporates pillows, priced $29.95 and $39.95, and a bedspread, at $149.
The men’s collection boasts a tailored look with a suit jacket in black or fuchsia pink priced at $149 and matching pants for a rather reasonable $59.95. The Versace line of accessories speaks to the man who prefers his briefs to be leopard printed and only $17.95 a pop.
