Fall 2011 shoe trends are beginning to unveil themselves on the busy city streets

As the months start to grow colder, the shoe styles get hotter

1. My-oh-my how we love mary jane.

From patent leather to suede, this season boast a rainbow of colors and fabrications. The chunky heel or accordian wedge updates the mary jane style bringing this trend to modern heights.

2. All tied up in vintage.

No longer does the old-fashioned worker boot require the accompaniment of a hard-hat. Imagine 1900s grunge, updated for the girl who would rather wear boots than heels…with pretty much any outfit. 

3. What are Brogues, you ask?

The Brogue is a style of low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterized by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations (or “brogueing”) and serration along the pieces’ visible edges. 

This fall fashion-statement-of-a-shoe can trace it’s roots back to before the oxford-style was considered menswear inspired. Originating in Scotland and Ireland, they were constructed for outdoor use, allowing the wearer to cross wet terrain.

4. Fringe…can’t get enough of it!

Carried over from summer, fringe detail on shoes and boots provide the perfect rebel edge to your ensemble of old rocker tees and distressed denim, or accentuate your southwestern-chic style. 

5. The must-have knee boot of fall.

Requires specific ‘must-have’ characteristics.
